“In Sagesse (2003), a chamber orchestra setting of the 16th poem from French Symbolist poet
Paul Verlaine’s eponymously-named collection (1881), composer Sean Hickey presents an
undauntedly lyrical and thoughtful work… Faster and more elaborate in its textures, the second part
introduces two exquisitely complementary voices (the mood-setting fragility of soprano Jennifer
Greene, followed by the poignant nostalgic quality of tenor Sean Fallen), whose parts are often
interspersed with very effective and well-proportioned instrumental interludes.”
“The love duet that followed was startlingly beautiful. The role of Fanny was played by Jennifer
Greene, a soprano with a pure voice that melts the heart… The quality of the acting matched the
voices. Total artistry reigned.”
“The romantic, coded German songs known as lieder are part of an unusually varied recital
program tonight at 7:30 p.m. in the Center for the Arts at the College of Staten Island. Included are
Franz Schubert songs "Nacht und Traume," "Die Fiorelle" and "Du Bist die Ruh," and Robert
Schumann's "Fantasy Pieces for Clarinet and Piano."
The trio consists of clarinetist Stacey Miller, who performs regularly with City Opera, the American
Ballet Theater orchestra and Brooklyn Philharmonic; Phillip Howard, a pianist based in Colorado,
and soprano Jennifer Greene, a Mannes College of Music graduate who recently sang Susanna
(of "The Marriage of Figaro") with the One World Symphony.”

THE ITALIAN REVIEW- by Nino Pantano
L'Elisir d'amore- Regina Opera Company, March 5, 2006
"The role of Adina was beautifully sung by Jennifer
Greene whose vibrant flexible soprano captivated
from 'Della Crudella Isotta' when she tells the tale of
Tristan and Isolde throughout the duets ensembles
and high ascents of the conclusions of both acts.
Greene’s Act 2 duet with Dulcamara 'Io son ricco e tu
sei bella' was sung with great charm and humor and
her 'Prendi, prendi per me sei libero' was superb.
Ms.Greene has excellent coloratura gifts at her
disposal with marvelous top notes, her accents and
descents up and down the scale were a marvel and
she has a seemingly endless breath control. The
quality and size of her voice indicate possible
dramatic heavier parts down the road. This was a
most auspicious and impressive performance."
